A
group of Gran Alacant's bars and restaurants came
together to organise the Carabassi Fiesta charity
event held in the Carabassi bar area collecting toys
for the underprivileged children this Christmas with
proceeds to the association Icnelia which intends
to build a centre for disabled children in Nicaragua.
There were lots of fun
activities for children with inflatables, storytelling,
clowns, Harley Davidson bikes and market stalls with
live entertainment from local bands.
Alain from Los
Belgas Restaurant an organiser of the charity event
spoke to Gran Alacant's Website...
`I would like to
say a little thank you from my part to all of the
entertainers, their names are Mr Bojangles, Jimmy
Mac, Bonovox, Alan Swoffer; the John Lennon tribute
act, Convoy Band from Elche, Nilo, Teryoke and Neil
Phillips the supplier of the music equipment.'
Alain's wife
Kelly, went onto say...
`It's taken us just
3 weeks to organise this event, just imagine what
we could do if longer. It's something good for the
community. We hope we can help someone.'
The event was held on
the 5th December 2010.
